A Trek to Kukke Subramanya (PART THREE)

Our morning started @ 04:45 as everyone’s mobile started alarming. We got up and finished washing face and removing the tents and getting ready for the hiking. It was 06:45 when we re-started our hiking and this time we kept our entire luggage in the Forest office and took only essentials. We divided our time and destination into 2 – 3 parts. Our first destination was the “Mantapa” and we decided to reach there around 08:00 and started walking. Yaar, the morning was so chilled yet so fresh with cool breeze. We did not stop for nearly one KM. I was leading from the front and Govinda was with me. After one KM we reached a place where we could see clouds just below us… Wow!!! Its really an amazing feeling. We were literally on cloud nine :)). So we spent 10 mins for the photo session and resumed our walking. It was exactly 07:45 when we reached the Mantap and since all of us were tired we took rest for few mins and had Breakfast there. Sweet Avalakki with Jaggery, Chapati, Chutney Pudi with GRB Ghee and MTR Pickle… “Swargakke kichhu hachhenda sarvajna…” We geared up ourselves from Mantap. Shireesh said he can’t make it up and we had to leave him there itself. So it was eleven of us who re-started our hiking towards the peak. Finally we reached the Kumara Parvata around 09:35 and Yahooo!!! It was me who reached the top First followed by Govinda and then Krupadev. So we started the photo session (Man we were beating any girls in this – Photo session). We spent some time there taking lots of pics of us and the exorbitant mountain. We saw another mountain and some one told that it is Shesha Parvata. We decided not to go there as it was looking majestic and too steep with water falls and all over it. A Guy was coming from that mountain and we thought we would ask him about his experience towards that Shesha Parvatha. He shocked us by revealing the fact that the one we scaled was actually the Shesha Parvatha and we are due for Kumara Parvatha. Man, it horrified us literally and couple of guys refused saying that they will return to Bhattara Mane. That guy ignited the hidden spirit by saying “Boss, jeevanadalli ondu lakshya ittukondu aa bettaana hatti. It’s a matter of 45 mins”. “Okay. We‘ll scale that too”, we said to ourselves and started again towards that Majestic Mountain – Kumara Parvata. But Aditya, Kripadev, and Govinda – the three “Never say die” spirit guys surprised by refusing to continue. So it was us final eight who restarted our hiking. On the way we met many people who were returning from the peak and we were all gung-ho after hearing to their words. Badrish was little slow but that did not spoil our spirit. We crossed few springs, crawled on rocks, slide on grass and finally we reached the Top. Yahoo!!! We scaled the Kumara Parvatha, one of state’s tallest and steepest peak. It was really nice feeling. We forgot the all pain, strain, backache when we were there. There was a Lord Shiva temple and we all paid our respects there and posed ourselves to the camera. We spent just 10 mins therebut the moment was precious. Its rare, unforgettable joyous experience for us. After spending some time on the peak we started down hilling towards Bhattara Mane. Around 13:30 we were all there, had food and after mins of rest we started moving towards Kukke. Around 17:15 hrs we were in the town of Kukke Subramanya. And despite the factor that we are all were tired, we wanted a swim and we fulfilled our dream by swimming in the river. Later we visited the temple and had food in the temple owned Dharam shaala and headed towards B’lore.
PS: Our return journey towards B’lore itself is enough for another essay. In one word, if I could summarize it – Yuk
