Karmanye Vyadhikaaraste...

Ahem Ahem..

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Here is an announcement for you...

"Grand and successful 55th week and still g(r)owing stronger day by day. Pls join me in sharing this pleasure"

Well, am talking about my stint in my current organisation. Its been Two(!!!) years since I joined here. Dont know how things fleeted in these two years. I still remember the day I went to Diamond District (DD) near Domlur on Oct. 18th, 2004 [Later I used to tell jokingly that the next day our share price shot up in the Nasdaq :)) ] and my TL welcomed me with a broad smile saying "So, Welcome Sreeharsha BG. I hope you find this place interesting". Interestingly she herself joined just a week back and I dont know how did she adjudge within one week. Later, I was introduced to my another team mate and showed me a cubicle. It was a rare feeling mixture of joy and pride sitting in a cubicle. It was my dream too, as earlier I used to sit in the Library surrounded by books and here its totally different.

Then started learning new things. I did not know what my company is all about. I was told that we are into SCM. All I knew was that we develop software and our peers are Manugistics, Oracle and SAP. Well my TL was so kind enough to explain me what are we into, about our products, solutions etc. It was intersting. The only thing I did not like is AACR-2. Well LIS professionals know how pain it is to go through the entire AACR-2. Since we three were new to organisation we had to go and meet people and get trained on different concepts. Initially it was interesting but slowly I started yawning ;) One training (Rather discussion) I liked very much was on the Search Engine :)

Then came the downsizing and the first victim in our global team was our reporting manager. I was so shocked to learn that and I was worried about my own place. Thanks to my team mate. She asked me not to leave saying "Lo, if you want to have a secured job y did you join corporate sector? y don't you look out for a govt. job". That made me to rethink about my decision of leaving and the result - we were rewarded with Milestone Award in July.. :-)

The company has recognised my efforts and giving me new tasks to do n thereby providing opportunities to learn. What I dont like is sometimes tooooo short deadlines and I hate that.

Hmm so far so good... Though professionally am not that much content, am happy (Nobody is satisfied professionally until you start your own venture). But personally have gone through ups and downs and this time its just nosedive in the personal matter. Things are going in such a way that have started thinking "Is this the time to move on?". Every day its kinda hell here. Not much of enthu to work. Though am keeping occupied myself with various activities and tightening up my own deadlines, somewhere, sometime, I feel that hallowness, that emptiness in my mind. It makes me feel sick.

Okay, Okay.. Enough of cribbing... Lets not spoil the party spirit...

Pls join with me.... Lets celebrate.
